Maybe you try different techniques, maybe you just mess around in Lightroom or Photoshop, but eventually you call it quits, never quite getting the photo you wanted …
Boring Photos? Don't Like It?
Welcome to Lapse of the Shutter
and thanks for taking the time to look around.
- Are you a Landscape or Cityscape photographer who can’t quite get the photos you want?
- Are your photos good, but not great, and you can’t figure out why?
- Do you want to know what it is that the pros are doing, that you aren’t?
If answering any of these questions sounds interesting to you, then you’re in the right place. This is where you can learn the skills and techniques of photography, like how to create and use saturation masks, how to make landscape colour grades and how to unlock Photoshop-like powers in Lightroom, and (hopefully) you’ll find it quick, simple and fun.
Why not start by downloading the totally free Lightroom Develop System, the Photoshop Colour Control ActionPack and the Photoshop Landscape Colour Grades?
I know there are a lot of competing voices out there, all telling you what you should and shouldn’t do, so why stay here?
Hi, I’m Tim Daniels and I spent far too long struggling to make photos match what I saw. I’ve been playing with Lightroom and Photoshop for about the last eight years now, licensing photos for book covers from my travels around the world, and over the years, by a long trial and error process, I have developed a workflow to get those photos to look exactly how I want them. If I can do it, you can do it too.
I believe in freely sharing this knowledge with you, helping you to make the photos that you want to make, whether that’s a true-to-life rendition of a landscape, or something more personal and stylised.
